Dietary Patterns and Self-Reported Associations of Diet with Symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

A persisting issue with dietary concerns for IBD patients is that there is whole insufficient data to provide analytically solid recommendations for eating habits. However patients themselves continue to voice their personal experience in how dietary changes have improved their conditions. In a 2012 study, researchers attempted to quantify these patient reports. The study’s conclusions stated that patients with ostomies followed more liberal dietary constraints. This being said, prospective studies are needed to determine whether diet influences disease course.
